Nail Monday

Mondays are my day off and as of lately my new thing is to paint my nails. I don't care to go to salons, but like how nails done right look. So after a few YouTube videos and browsing Pinterest I have found products and ideas that I can do at home. So Mondays now become Nail Mondays. All it takes is one DVR'd program about one hour, fun colors and a cup of coffee.
For me my results have been working out well.
Now I will share my ways so you too can enjoy Nail Monday.

First I recommend prepping your nails and shaping them the way you like. If you are not sure how to handle this on your own its really easy, just look on YouTube for video tutorials on how to file nails. They have them for the shape you are looking for. I like the square shape, so I researched square nail shaping. There are also videos that show you how to paint your nails as well...just in case you are like me and thought it was difficult. I now find this all easy, and really enjoy doing my own nails.

Now for the fun part:

I recommend using Pink Gel Coat (strengthens & brightens) I got mine on QVC check here Pink Gel Coat.
This works great for a base coat and top coat, and it strengthens your nails at the same time.

Today I am going to take my idea from one I found on Pinterest
VIA

Today I am going to do my own twist with a fall vibe.
I will be using Orange for my main color and a golden twilight for the stripe part.

STEP BY STEP

1. Apply the Pink Gel Coat or any Base coat
2. Apply two coats of orange color
3. For added protection you can add a regular top coat
4. Apply stripes
5. Finish with Pink Gel Coat or Top Coat

I am not a professional but it works for me. And I am right handed so doing the right hand was a bit tricky.
I am sure over time it will get easier and maybe I can find a tutorial on how to paint nails with your opposite hand. When I learn that I will for sure share with all of you.
Here is my finished look, nothing close to the picture but its the idea.
Now you have fun and festive nails on Monday

Check back next week for Nail Monday

First Pumpkin Anniversary Edition

So today on my lunch I found my first pumpkin of the season. It is way different from your traditional pumpkins that we are most familiar with. The stem alone is the largest that I have ever seen, it reminded me of a zucchini from my dads garden when I was younger. This pumpkin still has green veins going down it which I found very unique. Now for those who don't know, I work at a grocery store and my lunch break is taken on the back dock of the store sitting on a milk crate. The produce department has bins full of pumpkins, i usually don't pay much attention since I prefer to get my pumpkins from farms where they are grown. While I was sitting on my milk crate I happened to glance at a fellow employee who was loading a cart full of pumpkins. From a distance I fell in love with this unique looking pumpkin.
And here I share with you this lovely piece of nature.

Bringing home my pumpkin after a full days work made me think back to 6 years ago when I married the love of my life. It was on October 15, 2005 that I made the life long commitment to my Husband. This was the best day of my life and most memorable day for sure. This pumpkin is also a reminder that with each passing year there is something new and exciting to look forward too, just like a new pumpkin with each season. Seeing this pumpkin even motivated me to polish up my sliver so I could show off my new pumpkin and share the memory of my special day with you.  This is for sure my favorite time of year.

Blogging is not as easy at looks

Changed Location Again
I am sorry for all this confusion, blogging is not as easy at looks. I have found it hard to settle in one place, but after a little bit of help from my fellow blogging friends I think I finally am settled. First I want to thank and make a shout out to Kim at http://www.acuppakim.com/ for her helpful tips. And another shout out to Jessica at http://keepupwiththejohnsons.com/ for her help as well. These are two blogs I follow and recommend you do the same. For those of you trying to keep up with me and my blogging I do apologize and hope you do keep following me. I thought it was easy picking a location, but realized that its not. It takes a lot of time to start up a blog home that makes you and your guests feel welcomed.
With this in mind I hope this will be my blog home for good, or I am just going to toss in the blogging towel. So for now thanks for hanging in there, and I do hope you all will follow GiantsBear.at http://giantsbear.blogspot.com/

Till then here is my most recent blog I posted at my other location.

I LOVE PUMPKINS
I am super excited now that October has arrived.
Reasons Why:
Pumpkins I love Pumpkins
The color Orange is acceptable for things other than San Francisco Giants
My Wedding Anniversary Month 10-15-05
Pumpkin Lattes
Anything Pumpkin Flavor (wish it was around more times of the year)
Fall Scented Candles, Sprays and anything smelly from Bath and Body Works.
Decorating the house full of Pumpkins
Did I mention I love Pumpkins
Here are some visuals  just to show my love for this great time of year.
My wedding was all Pumpkin themed as well. The cake, table pieces it was all amazing. I got to bring home the pumpkins that were not carved into. They were very good quality pumpkins that I loved so much I kept them on the porch through Christmas. I decorated them with Christmas bows and all. They actually lasted up till spring 2006. It was a sad day when they were put to rest.
I am thankful that each new season brings a brand new exciting pumpkin to love. And i enjoying sharing my love for pumpkins with others as well.
So hope you all have a wonderful pumpkin season too!
